WA: ACCC investigates Caltex over petrol price rises

PERTH, Feb 6 AAP - The consumer watchdog is investigating Caltex after it was revealedthe company raised its petrol prices in Perth - to more than $1 a litre - to avoid runningout of supplies.
Some Caltex franchises raised unleaded petrol prices at the end of last month afterWA supplies began running short and new supplies could not be readily accessed from BP'srefinery.
WA's consumer protection department urged motorists to shop around for petrol afterprices went past the $1 mark.
