SA: Fatal car accident near Adelaide

ADELAIDE, Dec 22 AAP - A person died in a car accident south-east of Adelaide today,
the state's first fatality in the Christmas-New Year road toll period.

A Country Fire Service spokesman said one person died and three other people were injured
in the accident at Woodside.

He said two vehicles collided head-on at the corner of Onkaparinga Valley Road and
Mapinga Road about 3.30pm (AEDT) today.

The three injured people were being taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital, the spokesman said.

A police spokeswoman said the road was expected to be closed for some time and traffic
had been diverted around the accident scene.
